Centre of excellence – Global Systems Science (CoeGSS)

Introduction

Global Systems Science develops understanding of risks and opportunities involved in global challenges, such as pandemics, climate change, or the growth of cities. High Performance Computing provides computational and visualisation capabilities. CoeGSS merges HPC and GSS to support decision makers and civil society. It builds an HPC-based framework to generate customized synthetic populations for GSS applications based on three pilot studies: Health Habits – how can we improve the health care of tomorrow? Green Growth – how can economic development and environmental protection go hand in hand? Global Urbanization – how can we prepare the city of the future?
